Kentucky Summer Horse Shows
Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington

The Kentucky Summer Series got underway today, with familiar names at the top of the leader board at the Rolex Stadium. The 1.40m Open Jumper classes were the feature events, with Aaron Vale and Pablo Barrios each taking home a win. Vale closed out the day with a victory aboard Quidam’s Good Luck in the jump-off class, while Venezuela’s Pablo Barrios sped to the lead earlier with Lascana. Molly Hale also took home a blue ribbon, riding Kahula to the fastest double clear effort in the 7 & 8-Year-Old Jumpers. ...

One-Two Finish For Meredith Darst in $5,000 Hallway Feeds USHJA National Hunter Derby
Meredith Darst and Lightning Z earned the victory in today's $5,000 Hallway Feeds USHJA National Hunter Derby at the Bluegrass Festival Horse Show. Darst also finished second aboard Capstone. Lexington, KY – August 18, 2013 – A week of the nation’s best hunter derby competition came to a close today at the Bluegrass Festival Horse Show with the final hunter highlight event, the $5,000 Hallway Feeds USHJA National Hunter Derby. Today’s USHJA National Hunter Derby at the Kentucky Horse Park marked the fifth event in the seven-part Hallway Feeds USHJA National Hunter Derby Series, throughout which Meredith Darst has been extremely successful. She currently stands as the leading junior in the series, and she widened that lead today. Darst finished first in the 42-horse class aboard Lightning Z and second in the class aboard last week’s second place finisher, Capstone. Brunello and Liza Boyd Named 2013 USHJA International Hunter Derby Champions
Liza Boyd earned the victory in this year's USHJA International Hunter Derby aboard Brunello. Lexington, KY – August 17, 2013 – Liza Boyd and Brunello have consistently been top contenders at the USHJA International Hunter Derby Championships, but they have always come just short of the victory. Tonight at the Kentucky Horse Park Boyd and Brunello made the shot when it really counted, finally securing the win and earning the title of 2013 USHJA International Hunter Derby Tier I Champions.
